The LPN Apprenticeship Program is a partnership with local colleges and the Florida Department of Education to introduce LPNs to nursing opportunities at Health First hospitals.
Program Highlights:
- Open to applicants currently enrolled in, or who have completed the first semester (first 15 weeks) of an LPN program at an academic partner.
- The LPN Apprenticeship Program on-the-job learning competencies will begin when the Semester 2 of the LPN program begins.
- The apprentice will be eligible to transition to the Nurse Residency Program following graduation from the LPN Program and passing the NCLEX.
- Upon successful completion of the LPN Apprenticeship requirements, the LPN Apprentice will receive the Apprenticeship Program Completion Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.
Cardiac Monitor Technician Training Program (CMT), is a paid on-the-job training program designed to offer an introduction into healthcare and the Cardiac Monitor Technician position.
Once accepted into the program, you will be hired into a current position and will be paid while you learn. Upon successful completion, you will transition into a Cardiac Monitor Technician position. This course is Instructor-Led with Online Learning and clinical rotations done at one of our four Health First hospitals.

What you'll do:
- CMT's are responsible for the continuous monitoring of hospital patients' cardiac rhythms, recognition of cardiac arrhythmias, and documentation on cardiac monitor strips. You'll be responsible for identifying heart rhythm changes and trends.
- Working closely with RNs, Physicians, and other healthcare personnel, you'll assist in the delivery of care during a patient's hospital stay.
The Pharmacy Tech Program is a unique opportunity to gain employment and experience with us while training for your Pharmacy Technician License.

Our pharmacy technicians work closely with HealthFirst pharmacists to ensure the health and safety of their patients. Pharm Techs locate, dispense, pack, and label prescribed medications for patients. They work collaboratively with a licensed pharmacist to ensure accuracy before dispensing to the patient.

The Phlebotomy Trainee Program is a paid on-the-job training opportunity to gain hands-on experience and essential skills through comprehensive training led by experienced professionals.

What you’ll do:
As a phlebotomist, you will be responsible for using aseptic or sterile technique in the extraction of blood from patients via venipuncture or capillary collection. Proper identification of patients and laboratory specimens as well as proper transportation methods to performing departments requires critical thinking and communication skills.
The Trainee will learn through interactive online/didactic instruction, student laboratory, and clinical experiences to provide quality phlebotomy service. In this role, you will also ensure optimal support of laboratory testing activities through timely, accurate specimen collection of blood specimens. It's also especially important to interact with customers in a friendly, courteous, professional, and appropriate manner at all times.

What you’ll do:
As a Medical Assistant, you’ll help care for patients and support front desk functions while working alongside physicians, nurses and other office staff.
As a participant in our MA program, you will:
- Work as a per diem associate while you are in school (“Per diem” means you would work as needed in a variety of shifts and locations and hours would be flexible).
- You may choose from a variety of per diem roles, such as Patient Services Representative or Patient Observer, depending on your experience and availability.
- You must work at least 12 hours a month.
- Your experience will give you a head start when you’re ready to begin working as a MA.
- Receive up to $5,000 in financial assistance for your tuition.
- You pay the remaining costs for your books, lab fees and uniforms.

The Radiology Tech Training Program is a paid, on-the-job training opportunity offered in partnership with Eastern Florida State College and Keiser University. Benefit from tuition assistance while gaining hands-on experience and attending classes.
